Yemen – Dead Good Decaf
(Al Hayma & Anis)
Single Origin / Decaffeinated
Our latest release is a high-altitude natural from Yemen’s Al Hayma and Anis regions, decaffeinated using the CO₂ method to preserve all the juicy fruit complexity you’d expect from a full-strength cup. Think grape, raspberry and a citrusy zip of lemon, with a mellow rounded body and clean finish. Bold, bright, and beautifully balanced — without the buzz.

Why This Coffee?
Decaf gets a bad rep. But this lot is anything but an afterthought. Grown on high-altitude terraces in the rugged terrain around Sana’a and Dhamar, these cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness—often over multiple passes. After drying on raised beds and in greenhouses for up to three weeks, they’re rested and carefully decaffeinated using the CO₂ method. This gentle, sustainable approach retains the beans’ structure, flavour, and moisture—without leaving a trace of chemical aftertaste.
Flavour Notes
Grape | Raspberry | Lemon
Vibrant and fruit-forward with mellow body and a soft, raisin-like sweetness. Balanced acidity and a crisp, clean finish.
About the Producers
Al Hayma:
On the arid outskirts of Sana’a, farmers grow coffee up to 2,250 MASL. Volumes are tiny, quality is huge. Cherries ripen late, developing exceptional flavour clarity and structure.
Anis:
Further south in Dhamar, fertile soils and abundant water give Anis an edge. Volumes are higher, but attention to detail remains—producing some of Yemen’s most consistent and exciting coffees.
This collaboration, brought to life by Sheba Coffee and the Omwani team, celebrates Yemen’s heritage, innovation, and resilience—now in a deliciously smooth decaf form.
